Length of Study : A. Master Program: maximum 4 years (maximum 8 semesters)

B.  Doctoral Program: maximum 7 years (maximum 14 semesters)

Total Credit Requirements : A. Master Program: 41-42 SKS

B. Doctoral Program: 43-48 SKS

Graduation Requirements : A. Master Program:

1)  GPA of at least 3.00

2)  Thesis qualify for the proposed Ujian Tahap I when referring to the journal at least 50% of the reference amount referred

3)  Minimum submit proof of publishing scientific articles in journals or approval editor for publishing scientific articles in journals accredited national or international journal indexed or presenting research results at international seminars both at domestic and abroad before the Ujian Tahap I.

4)  Take the Test of Proficiency in Indonesia (UKBI) with a minimum score of 578-640 (Excellent)

5)  Have proof of language proficiency of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish), specifically for English, a minimum TOEFL score of 500 or a minimum IELTS score of 5.5

 

B. Doctoral Program:

1)  GPA of at least 3.00

2)  The dissertation qualify for the proposed Ujian Tahap I  when referring to the journal at least 60% of the reference amount referred

3)      Submit proof of scientific publications in Scopus indexed journals or Scopus indexed proceedings before the Ujian Tahap I  with the provisions in accordance with the Handbook of Education Implementation Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia 2016.

4)      Take the Test of Proficiency in Indonesia (UKBI) with minimum score of 641-724 (Very Excellent)

5)      Have proof of language proficiency of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish), specifically for English, a minimum TOEFL score of 525 or a minimum IELTS score of 6

 

            RATIONALE

The rapid development of science and technology produce spesialization science and limited job skills. Perseverance to explore these fields seriously to make people more intelligent on their field, but increasingly forgotten how important it is to a harmonious and responsible life for the sake of public interest, the nation, the state, and the universal humanity. Awareness of the importance of harmony, cooperation, tolerance, and high perfomance in the social life that encouraged the importance of each person to get a General Education which contain value, good moral values/ethics, aesthetics, religion, languade, political, and social values. Therefore, through general education, will create educated people who had a complete and comprehensive vision, thoughtful, and become a mature person in line with the views of Phenix (1964: 8-9) “These are the aims of general education for the development of a complete person, whole person … formation of a mature person.”

            Study Program of General Education (Value Education/Character Education) at Indonesia University of Education present in order to create Lecturer of Mata Kuliah Wajib Umum (MKWU), Lecturer who want to integrate character education and philosophy in the subject they teach, Character teacher educators, journalist, Non Government Organization, Mass Organization, Bureaucrats, and Values and Character Education Specialist qualified Masters (M.Pd.) and Doctoral (Dr.).

AIMS

  1. Master Program Aims

       Produce graduates who have the ability:

  1. To develop General Education subject in schools and universities takes as the fundamental basis of the development of whole person with the positive character.
  2. To develop methods and implementation of Public Education in schools and universities to develop positive personal character.
  3. To develop a culture of schools and universities that is conducive to fostering and developing the value and character of students.
  4. To implement the theory of General Education in achieving the common goal of national education in educational practice.
  5. Doctoral Program Aims

Create professional experts in the field of General Education, values, morals and character are capable:

  1. To perform the creative ideas of education in General Education, Educational Values and Character Education.
  2. To perform the results of an independent study in the field of General Education, values and character that contribute to the improvement of educational policy and public policy, particularly in the field of General Education.

 

LEARNING OUTCOME

  2. Able to develop knowledge, technology, and / or the arts in public education through research, to produce creative work, original, and tested;
  3. Able to conduct research and development of approaches, methods, public education learning strategies which innovative and creative to improve the quality and learning outcomes and maximize the potential of learners;
  4. Able to manage, lead and develop research and general education development for the benefit of science and humanity’s benefit, as well as gain national and international recognition;
  5. Able to apply knowledge, science, and expertise in the field of general education based on values education;
  6. Able to solve problems in the sphere of general education and to formulate solutions through inter, multi and transdisciplinary approach;
  7. Able to work together and adjust to individual, group, community, work environment, and new situations encountered in the profession of general education;
  8. Able to publish ideas and research results general education orally, and in writing, either on a national or global level, for the benefit of science and society needs.

  6. Develop and produce various models of curriculum-oriented quality standards;
  7. Develop and produce teaching models oriented quality standards;
  8. Communicate the results of the research model of curriculum development and learning effectively both orally and in writing and published in scientific journals nationally and internationally accredited.

ASSESSMENT

The score of each subject of study success is the cumulative result of the component tasks (30%), midterm (30%), and final exams (40%). An assessment of the success of the study is based on the Penilaian Acuan Patokan (PAP).

 

SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS

The learning process is conducted through three main activities, namely face-to-face, structured tasks and activities of self study. Face-to-face activity used to assess and discuss the substance of the lecture. Structured tasks conducted as the task of learning projects to explore learning face-to-face. Self study activities used to read a number of mandatory or reference literature courses.
